Lastingly improved working conditions
The Dresdner Bank building is a special one and it has its own unique history: The neo-Baroque villa, which dates from around the turn of the 20th century, was completely gutted by fire in 1945, continued to exist as a makeshift structure, was then restored at a low cost and extended into a bank building. Large-scale enhancements to its acoustics in 2018 lastingly improved working conditions, creating an attractive, modern workplace.
The bank is a special building, one which – as it turned out – required, amongst other things, a special acoustics concept, too. Because of its very high ceilings and the hard surfaces many meetings were audible on the upper floors, something that made concentrated work more difficult and was to the detriment of the confidentiality one expects of a bank. The new acoustics concept includes the AOS wall and the ceiling-based absorbers on the upper storey.
